As a textile designer working in the historic towns of Chanderi and Maheshwar, I was captivated by the artistry and dedication of local weavers. Despite their exceptional skill, I saw that their work often went underappreciated and underpaid. This realization planted the seed for Earthy Handlooms — a platform to give these artisans the recognition, reach, and returns they truly deserve.
As our name suggests, Earthy Handlooms is all about staying grounded — our sarees and dress materials are handwoven from natural fibres, reflecting an organic connection between the craft and the earth. We focus exclusively on Maheshwari and Chanderi textiles, known for their lightweight elegance, subtle sheen, and intricate weaving traditions. Each piece is handcrafted using time-honored techniques passed down through generations.
What started as a small initiative to connect weavers with customers via social media has grown into a thriving, global platform. By eliminating middlemen, we ensure that artisans receive fair compensation while customers receive beautiful, meaningful products.
